Memories

My mom (Lali Cola) just told me this story the other day. Whenever our cat would bring a mouse or rat in our house she would call and ask Adam or Jon to come down and get it out of the house for us. One day this happened and she called. Micah answered the phone. Adam and John were both gone, but Micah said he would help my mom. When he got there she told him thank you. She just really didn't like rats. It was the one thing she couldn't deal with. She kept going on and on. Finally Micah said "maybe the rat doesn't like you either". He was probably 6 or 7. She would always tell that story to her students when they were whining over being partnered with someone they didn't like. She would tell them, "maybe they don't like you either".  --Sarah(Goodlaw) Brown

Micah was the first person outside our families we told we were pregnant (after the wedding). He didn't believe us. We had to play the video tape of the sonogram for him. The moment he saw the tiny baby and heard the heart beat, he cried, and hugged us both. It was really touching. I'll never forget it. -- Ashleigh Rodriguez

I remember him as a cute little boy saying “Happy Day” instead of “Happy Birthday.” It was so cute. I still think of his little voice whenever I have a “Happy Day.” -- Joy U'Ren Heyer
