Memories

Back in the late 90s/early 2000s my brother and I would play the game Quake online, against a bunch of random people from all over, one player was just cleaning house on everyone, just dominating every round his screen name was something in Spanish, but at the end of the round on the scoreboard his screen name would change to Micah Lee. I asked him where he was from, he said Burbank, California, sure enough it was my cousin Micah, what a small world. -- Matt Paystrup

Micah would set up LAN parties (yes, we were nerds).  We would network our computers together (of course, Micah set it all up and we just plugged in) and play multiplayer games.  This was all before everything was seamless on a phone.  You had to do some homework to get it done right. Again, Micah was the glue for our little group of unlikely and diverse friends, which consisted of an immigrant Armenian kid like me, a Mexican American kid like Rafael, and Micah.  Just like in basketball, we competed, had fun, and looked to Micah, a natural leader, on what to do.  -- Tigran Sinanyan
